Lawrence L. Merworth
Managing Partner/President
Mr. Merworth has actively worked in the Oil & Gas Industry since April of 1991. In those 33 years he has worked within a broad range of services ranging from downhole pumps, surface lift equipment, well workover, construction, completion, production equipment, compression equipment, process & treating equipment and various types of facilities. In addition to his broad range of work experience, Mr. Merworth has directly managed 16 major plays in the contiguous United States as well as international experience in Southeast Asia. Prior to being a founding partner of Limpia Resources, Mr. Merworth served as the Mid-Continent Division Vice President for USA Compression and other executive roles with Exterran, Natural Gas Services Group and Wood Group. Mr. Merworth earned his Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management from Sul Ross State University and his Master of Business Administration from Texas Christian University.
Derek May
Managing Partner/SVP of Engineering & Installaion
Derek has over 33 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry. Duties have included engineering, design, fabrication, construction, project management, business development, and operations of natural gas compression, process, and treating equipment and facilities.
Derek started his career in the early nineteen nineties at Production Operators, Inc. as an engineer honing his skills in design, fabrication, and construction of compression, process, and treating facilities over the years. Derek has worked in most of the major basins within the US.
Subsequently through the years his experience grew with Hanover Compression, Schlumberger, Universal Compression, and Exterran through multiple acquisitions and mergers.
Most recently, Derek has been Director of Station Services, responsible for engineering, procurement, project management, and construction activities for turnkey compression facilities for all regions within USA Compression. The “Stations Services Team” would take a project from initial design conception through procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning.
Derek is a graduate of Purdue University, married for 30 years with two sons. He enjoys spending time with family including our pack of rescue dogs. God, family, and racing has always been a passion.
Matt Thompson
Managing Partner - Business Development
Mr. Matt Thompson has extensive business development experience within the energy industry across the major shale plays of North America. He has been a key leader in sales and development efforts across multiple service lines including compression, processing and treating, production equipment, salt water disposal, crude gathering, central gathering facilities and gas lift systems. Mr. Thompson was a top sales producer at Exterran in multiple product lines including compression, production equipment and process and treating. He helped lead a management team buyout of vertically integrated manufacturing facility who lead the industry in the design and fabrication of turnkey modular production facilities. Prior to being a founding partner of Limpia Resources, Matt served in business and corporate development roles at US Shale Solutions, a private equity funded platform who provided integrated services across US and Canada.
